Terms of Service

Leashkin is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform providing business management tools to independent pet care professionals ("Providers"). Leashkin is not a marketplace, employment agency, staffing service, or pet care provider.

Leashkin does NOT:

• Employ, supervise, direct, or control any Provider
• Match Providers with Clients
• Guarantee the quality of any pet care service
• Act as an agent or broker for any party

2.1 Your Relationship with Leashkin

You are an independent contractor using Leashkin's software to manage your pet care business. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment relationship, partnership, or agency between you and Leashkin.

2.2 Your Client Relationships

You own your client roster. The clients you add to Leashkin are your clients — not Leashkin's. Leashkin will never:

• Market competing pet care services directly to your clients
• Solicit your clients to work with other Providers
• Share your client data with third parties for competitive purposes
• Use your client contact information to contact them on our own behalf, except for transactional platform emails you initiate

Your client data is yours. You can export it at any time.

2.3 Profile Accuracy

By publishing a profile you confirm that all information is accurate and truthful. You will promptly update your profile if any information becomes inaccurate. False or misleading claims may result in account suspension or termination.

Leashkin does not independently verify profile information. Providers are solely responsible for the accuracy of their profiles.

2.4 Insurance and Licensing

You are responsible for obtaining any business licenses, permits, or insurance required by your jurisdiction. Leashkin does not provide or arrange insurance on your behalf.

2.5 Liability for Pet Care Services

Any claim, dispute, injury, or damage arising from pet care services — including property damage, animal injury, personal injury, theft, or loss — is solely between you (the Provider) and your Client. Leashkin assumes no liability for:

• The quality, safety, or outcome of any service you provide
• Injuries to pets in your care
• Damage to Client property
• Personal injury to you, your Client, or any third party

By using Leashkin, you agree to indemnify and hold Leashkin harmless from any claim arising from your provision of pet care services.

3.1 Your Relationship with Providers

Clients contract directly with Providers for pet care services. Leashkin provides the technology platform but is not a party to any service agreement between a Client and a Provider.

3.2 Disputes

Disputes regarding care quality, property damage, or animal injury are between the Client and Provider. Leashkin support can assist with platform issues only.

4.1 Subscription Fees

Pack ($4.99/mo), Pro ($19.99/mo), and Business ($39.99/mo) subscriptions are billed monthly in advance, auto-renewing until cancelled. No refunds for unused portions of a billing period.

4.2 Processing Fee

Leashkin charges a 5% processing fee on all card payments processed through the platform. This fee covers payment infrastructure, including third-party processing via Stripe. The fee does not apply to cash, check, or payments collected outside Leashkin.

4.3 Weekly Payment Batching

All card payments processed through Leashkin are batched and charged as a single weekly transaction, processed each Monday covering services from the prior Monday through Sunday. Individual card charges are not issued per service or visit. This policy applies to all card-on-file and online payment transactions. Manual invoices created and sent directly by providers may be paid immediately upon client receipt.

4.4 Minimum Transaction Amount

Card payments below $20.00 USD are not processed through Leashkin. Services below this threshold must be collected directly by the provider via cash, check, bank transfer, or other means. Leashkin is not responsible for collection of these amounts.

4.5 Payment Terms

Providers may set payment terms of: due on receipt, net 7, net 14, or net 30 days. These terms apply to when payment is considered overdue, not when the weekly batch runs.

4.6 Late Fees

Providers may optionally configure late fees for overdue invoices. Late fees are set by the provider and applied at their discretion. Leashkin is not a party to any late fee arrangement between provider and client.

4.7 Failed Payments

If a weekly batch payment fails, Leashkin will retry up to two additional times. If all attempts fail, the invoice is marked failed and the provider is notified to resolve directly with the client. Leashkin is not responsible for uncollected payments.

4.8 Receipts

Clients receive a single weekly receipt by email summarizing all services included in their batch charge. Individual per-visit receipts are not issued for batched payments.

4.9 Taxes

Card payments processed through Leashkin are handled by Stripe. Stripe issues IRS Form 1099-K directly to Providers where required by applicable law. Leashkin does not issue 1099-K forms. You are solely responsible for reporting all income to applicable tax authorities.

5.1 Permitted Content

Providers may use their public profile to display their services, rates, bio, photos, and reviews as provided through the Leashkin platform.

5.2 Prohibited Content

Provider profiles may not contain:

• Links to external platforms, websites, or social media profiles of any kind, including but not limited to Rover, Wag, Care.com, personal websites, or social networks.
• Advertising or promotion of services, products, or platforms other than those offered through Leashkin.
• Referral codes, affiliate links, or promotional codes for third-party services.
• Personal contact information intended to facilitate transactions outside of Leashkin, including personal email addresses, phone numbers, payment handles (Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, etc.), or any other means of direct contact that bypass the platform.
• Pricing structures that contradict or circumvent the provider's Leashkin service settings.

5.3 Content Removal

Leashkin reserves the right to remove any profile content that violates these guidelines, without prior notice to the provider.

5.4 Repeated Violations

Providers who repeatedly violate the Profile Content Policy may have their account suspended or permanently terminated at Leashkin's sole discretion.

Star ratings are calculated from verified service completions (paid invoices). Ratings are immutable and count toward a Provider's aggregate score regardless of whether text reviews are displayed publicly.

Providers may approve, pin, or hide text reviews displayed on their public profile. Hiding a review does not affect the star rating calculation.

Leashkin reserves the right to remove content containing hate speech, threats, harassment, personally identifiable information of third parties, defamatory false statements, or spam.

Your data is yours. Leashkin does not sell your data or your clients' data to third parties.

GPS route data and visit photos are retained for 90 days from the date of service then automatically purged. Financial records are retained for 7 years for tax compliance. You may export your data at any time through platform settings.

Free and Pack tier accounts display Leashkin-placed partner advertisements on client-facing documents. Pro tier Providers may upgrade to remove advertisements.

Our Privacy Policy is at leashkin.com/privacy and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Leashkin's liability for platform downtime or data loss is limited to the functionality of the software platform. Leashkin does not guarantee 100% uptime.

By you: Close your account anytime through settings. Data retained for 30 days before deletion for export purposes.

By Leashkin: Accounts may be suspended for Terms violations, false profile information, fraudulent payment activity, harassment, or illegal use.

Leashkin will provide 30 days advance notice of material changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Worcester County, Massachusetts.
